We've always been known for our Christmas auction. And that's been a good fundraiser for us. In 2024, we are shaking things up by adding a second big event -- to raise funds, to get our name out there, and to thank our generous supporters -- you -- for helping us in our mission of helping folks get their animals spayed and neutered.
The Festival of PAWS will be held on May 4, 2024 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, in the fields near the YMCA on the OUZ/Zane State campus. There will be several events, including a 1K Fun run/walk (with your dogs, if you like!). There will be food. Our vendors will be showcasing their products, including drone-based dog finding and dog training. Our current sponsors are providing bathrooms and trash pickup. We are undertaking this next door to the YMCA, which will be holding Basketball tournament on the same day -- the more, the merrier!
Part of the point of this event is to reach out to the community and increase our visibility. It's always surprising that some folks don't know about us, and what we try to do to help folks get their animals fixed. If you are a local nonprofit, this could be a great opportunity for you to be more visible in the community, too. Part of the point of the PAWS festival, after all, is to provide a space for education and information. Animal-based nonprofits can reserve a space for free and other nonprofits can get a space for $20. We can always use more vendors! This is a family event, so no matter what your business is, you will likely find customers. Local businesses pay $50, and commercial organizations pay $200. What do you get for the money? A 12 x 12 space suitable for a tent and tables -- whatever you think you might need for your information/goods/services.
Are you a local business that wants to help, but does not want or need to be a vendor? You might consider sponsoring the event! Some of our sponsors are providing 'in kind' services, but we also have several levels of corporate sponsorship if you want to show your support for getting animals fixed. We are all in this together, and the more people that work to combat the overpopulation of animals, the healthier our community is!
You can register as a vendor or sponsor on our website -- just check out the 'PAWS festival' tab. If you have questions or want more information, feel free to contact us by email or through the website. It's going to be a fun day!
